August 12 of 12

Another month has come and gone and we're already into August and already at the 12th. So here's my my day. Check out what others did by visiting Chad's website. I had surgery on my foot just over a week ago and I haven't been able to do much so my day was pretty uneventful. I tried to take the few things I did today and make interesting pictures out of them. Hopefully it worked. All the pictures were taken in Gilbert, Arizona.

10:00 am - The above mentioned foot. I've been doing much better walking but it's still another week before I'm allowed to drive.

10:30 am - I ended up working about half a day typing cases. My attempt to make an interesting picture of my case envelopes.

12:30 - Lunch was leftover Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp from dinner last night at The Cheesecake Factory.

2:00 pm - Taking care of some laundry.

3:00 pm - Unloaded the dishwasher. Some of the Fiestaware we received for wedding gifts.

3:15 pm - Then I spent some time cutting up a watermelon.

3:30 pm - The mentioned watermelon after being cut up.

6:00 pm - Getting ready to go out to get some dinner. I have to wrap up my foot and wear the special "shoe".

6:30 pm - A reminder that we need to buy a blower. The driveway is covered in Mesquite beans this time of year and this is after already sweeping up a big pile of them.

6:30 pm - Our beautiful new car (that is primarily for me) which I haven't been able to drive yet because of my surgery :(

7:45 pm - The moon and first star of the night.

8:00 pm - We ended the night by getting two scoops of Double Strawberry custard from Culvers. Yummy!

Thanks again for stopping by. Hope you had a great 12th. Come back next month to see what we all have been up to!

July 12 of 12

So now we're half way through the last year of the 12 of 12 :( Thanks to Chad for hosting all this time. Check out his website to see what everyone else was up to today. All my pictures were taken in and around the Phoenix metro area. Enjoy!

9:00 am Gilbert, AZ - I guess it rained a bit last night. Just enough to leave annoying water spots all over my car.

10:00 am Phoenix, AZ - First stop of the day was at the University of Phoenix to pick up some transcripts.

11:00 am Tempe, AZ - Next stop was Arizona State University for some checks. Of course they have the street torn up where I usually park, so I had to park further away, which wouldn't be so bad except that it was already over 100 degrees.

1:00 pm Chandler, AZ - After wasting a bunch of time at ASU chasing after a record that didn't exist, I went to the Chandler Police Department for a check.

1:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - What, construction on the streets in Gilbert? NO WAY!!! (said with a slightly sarcastic tone). The street construction here does not stop.

1:45 pm Gilbert, AZ - Next stop was the Gilbert Police Department for another check. This is the statue out in front of the building.

2:15 pm Gilbert, AZ - Stopped for a quick small lunch before I headed off to self defense class.

4:15 pm Gilbert, AZ - Driving home for a quick shower before I go out to do more work, I pass this mutantly tall corn that is in a bunch of fields around Gilbert.

6:45 pm Gilbert, AZ - Finally done with my appointments for the day and realized that I better get more fuel before I head out for work tomorrow.

7:00 pm Gilbert, AZ - This was the epitome of my day. I just wanted to get home but every light I hit was red.

7:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - After getting home and getting settled in, I started watching the home run derby which I recorded. Go CY, one of our Diamondbacks in the derby!

7:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - But I have to be faithful to my Red Sox and root for Big Papi to win.

Thanks for stopping by. Six more 12 of 12 posts.

June 12 of 12

Well, the honeymoon is over and we're back home trying to get our lives in order. Merging two households is not easy, especially when each of us have been living on our own for so long. So for the past few weeks I've been moving my stuff from my condo to our house and getting the condo ready to rent out. So here's my (not very exciting) day today. Thanks goes out to Chad for hosting the 12 of 12. Check out his website to see what everyone else did today. All the pictures were taken in Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona.

11:30 am Mesa, AZ - At the condo installing new fans to update the place a bit. First one in, one more to go.

1:30 pm Mesa, AZ - The stack of stuff I've gotten rid of so far, ready to be taken to Goodwill. What you don't see is the four boxes of clothes included in the load.

2:30 pm Mesa, AZ - Forbidden Red, the color we're going to use to cover up the bright red wall in the condo.

6:00 pm Mesa, AZ - Still trying to figure out if we want to keep the toilet and put it in our house, or get rid of it. It looks a bit funny on the balcony.

6:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - One of our spare bedrooms has become a store room for my stuff brought over from the condo.

7:00 pm Gilbert, AZ - Brought home dinner from Pei Wei. Yummy pad thai.

8:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - Doing some laundry so I'll have all clean clothes to pack tomorrow for my trip to Spokane.

9:00 pm Gilbert, AZ - We started painting the bathroom yesterday, and my wonderful husband left me this message on the wall when I was getting cleaned up.

9:00 pm Gilbert, AZ - Another message he left (the medicine cabinet is going there).

9:15 pm Gilbert, AZ - We had a contractor come in to put some more plugs in the bathroom and he has this little quirk where all the screws have to be pointing the same direction on the face plates. All of them were like this one.

9:30 pm Gilbert, AZ - Getting ready to put on another coat of paint.

11:00 pm Gilbert, AZ - The painting is almost finished and the medicine cabinets are up. One more coat on the back wall and it will be done. Such a cheery yellow!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my day. See you next month.

May 12 of 12

Once again, it is the 12th of the month. And that means contributing to Chad Darnell's 12 of 12 blog child. Check out Chad's website to see what everyone else did today. For me, it is the last day of my HONEYMOON in Ireland. Sad to leave tomorrow but we've had a great time for the week we were here, despite being delayed 3 days from the ash cloud. Today was spent driving from Dingle, County Kerry to Cong, County Mayo. We are staying in Ashford Castle for our last night here. All the pictures are from there or Cong Village. Enjoy!

2:45 pm Ashford Castle - The entrance to the hotel at the castle

3:45 pm Ashford Castle - After getting checked in, we went to the drawing room to have some lunch. My afternoon tea and my husband's afternoon Guinness

4:30 pm Ashford Castle - After lunch, we went to explore the ground of the castle which were absolutely beautiful.

4:35 pm Ashford Castle

4:35 pm Ashford Castle

4:45 pm Ashford Castle - The fountain in one of the gardens

5:00 pm Ashford Castle - The castle seen through a bed of tulips.

5:00 pm Ashford Castle - Seeing how well we could use the delay timer on the camera and one of my most favorite pictures from our trip!

5:10 pm Ashford Castle

5:30 pm Ashford Castle - The setting of Quiet Man, a movie filmed in the 1950s. The house is on the grounds of the castle.

7:00 pm Cong - Going to dinner at a pub in the village, we are once again reminded to drive on the left hand side of the road. I finally tried today and did pretty well. Fortunately, my husband has been willing to drive the rest of the time we've been here.

7:30 pm Cong - Having a drink at The Crow's Nest, a pub in the sleepy little village of Cong.

Thanks for stopping by to see my day. I hope your day was as wonderful as mine. Cheers!

April 12 of 12

So it's the 12th of the month again, which means another 12 of 12. After this month, only seven more. I guess I'll have to find something else to put in the place of 12 of 12 :( As always, visit Chad's website to see what everyone else was doing today. All these pictures were taken in sunny Gilbert, Arizona.

8:30 am - My own little friendly reminder to document my day.

1:00 pm - Fast forward a few hours where all I did was make phone calls for work. Going to watch the game while I'm typing cases.

3:45 pm - On my way to Crossfit. It was really windy today and apparently it was blowing in cooler weather (which is fine with me).

3:55 pm - Getting ready to go in for Crossfit. The work out of the day, 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 squats, over and over again for 20 minutes, to see how many sets you can do in the time allotted. I managed to finish 14 rounds.

5:00 pm - Documenting the workout so that next time we do the same workout, I can see what I need to beat.

5:15 pm - I pass a row of Bougainvillea bushes coming into the neighborhood. They are just finishing up their peak bloom, and are beautiful.

6:15 pm - Emptying the dishwasher before I start on dinner.

6:30 pm - The filling I made for the stuffed pork chops. It's marscarpone cheese, roasted red peppers, and sun-dried tomatoes.

6:40 pm - I realized after I already stuffed the chops that the stuffing will not stay in while it is grilling, so I left the extra out so that we could top the chop when it was done.

7:00 pm - While the pork chops were grilling, I checked out the sunset, and also realized that I took an almost exact same picture for last month's 12 of 12.

7:00 pm - Checking on the start of some (hopefully) sweet and delicious San Marzano tomatoes.

7:30 pm - Dinner. The chops covered in the cheese mixture and wilted spinach with balsamic and bacon bits. Yummy!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my day. See you next month.
